Michaela joined the Anne Rowling Clinic in 2019 and has since developed a substantial portfolio of clinical trials and observational studies projects. Some of these include OCTOPUS, MS-STAT2, Future-MS phase 2, Star-MS and PIT-MS. Michaela is also involved in the coordination and general day-to-day running of the Anne Rowling Clinic.

Michaela previously worked within NHS Lothian's Department of Clinical Neurosciences (DCN) as a staff nurse in both the neuro-medical and neurosurgical wards. Prior to her clinical work, she gained an undergraduate First Class honours degree in Psychology and then went on to study for a Master’s degree in Neuropsychology.  Her Master’s dissertation project helped develop an alternative cognitive screening test for MND (Edinburgh Cognitive and Behavioural ALS Screen; ECAS).  Michaela’s main interest is working collaboratively with patients and practitioners to gain more understanding of potential new neurodegenerative disease treatments.
